.......Returns to the Luju stage after four years of growth
Eight years after establishing herself as one of Eswatini's leading R&B voices, Mandisa Mamba is returning to one of the country's biggest festival stages with a career that has grown far beyond music.
Mamba is set to perform at the 8th edition of the Standard Bank Luju Food & Lifestyle Festival on August 1 and 2, marking her first appearance at the festival since 2022.
For many music lovers, Mamba became a household name in 2018 when her Love Fiend music video captured widespread attention online.
However, by then she had already been building her music career, steadily earning recognition for her songwriting, soulful vocals and stage presence.
Since then, her journey has taken her beyond the recording studio. She has collected music awards, performed on regional and international stages, ventured into business, built a career as a content creator and brand ambassador, stepped into acting and recently embraced motherhood.
Her return to Luju also comes at a new chapter in her life. Speaking during a brief interview at the launch of the eighth edition of Luju Festival, Mamba revealed that this will be her first Luju performance since becoming a mother.
She said rehearsals were already underway as she prepared to deliver a memorable show, although she kept details of the performance under wraps.
She only hinted that audiences could expect a carefully selected catalogue of music that would make the performance worth watching.
The festival appearance follows the release of her latest single, Euphoria, which debuted on June 18, 2026.
The song reflects on overcoming betrayal, envy and disappointment while choosing healing over bitterness.
Rather than dwelling on painful experiences, the track focuses on resilience, faith and finding peace through trusting God's timing.
Written during a difficult period in her life, the single shifts from heartbreak to hope, capturing her decision to focus on the future instead of what was lost.
Euphoria follows another significant release, Apologise, which marked her return to music after taking a two-year break to focus on personal growth and other areas of her life.
In previous interviews, Mamba explained that Apologise was intentionally written as one side of a conversation rather than a typical breakup song. She said listeners only hear one perspective, describing the song as part of a much bigger dialogue.
Away from music, Mamba has also made her mark in film. Her portrayal of Queen Choshile introduced audiences to another side of her creativity and earned praise for her performance.
During a live broadcast interview, she said the role reignited her passion for acting and allowed her to explore both the strength and vulnerability of the character.
She also expressed gratitude to the producers for trusting her with the opportunity, saying their confidence gave her the freedom to fully embrace the role.
Born and raised in Eswatini to a mother from Durban, South Africa, and a father from Nhlangano, Mamba has often credited her upbringing, family values and faith for shaping both her life and career.
Since launching her music career in 2017, Mamba has built one of the country's most decorated contemporary music careers.
She has won Best R&B Artist, Best Collaboration and Song of the Year at the MTN Eswatini Music Awards, while her hit single Fault In The Stars made history by spending 11 consecutive weeks at number one on the Eswatini Top 20 Music Chart the first local artist to achieve the feat.
Her success has also extended beyond Eswatini's borders. In 2018, she became the first and only Eswatini artist to receive a nomination in the Best Female Artist in Southern Africa category at the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA), where she also performed before an audience of more than 20,000 people.
That same year, Glam Africa Magazine named her among its 'Top 5 Artists to Watch in Africa', further cementing her reputation as one of the country's leading musical exports.
Known for blending R&B with reggae, pop, electro and hip-hop influences, Mamba has performed at festivals including MTN Bushfire, AFRIMA Music Village, Sibebe Friday Night Live and Yebo'gogo Yebo'mzala Festival.
Beyond performing, she has also championed youth development through her work with the Bushfire Schools Festival, helping create spaces where young people can explore the arts through workshops and creative expression.
Her return to Luju also carries special significance. The last time she performed on the festival's main stage was during the 2022 edition, where she shared the lineup with leading regional and local artists.
One of the standout moments from that performance was her energetic tribute performance of Thank You Mr DJ in the presence of South African music legend Yvonne Chaka Chaka.
Four years later, Mandisa Mamba returns to the Luju stage not simply as the artist audiences first discovered through Love Fiend, but as a musician, actress, entrepreneur and mother whose career continues to evolve with every chapter.
