Women in Eswatini will have a dedicated space to talk, connect and spend time with one another when eGumeni: Mental Health’s Summon to All the Ladies of the Land takes place on October 3, 2026 at Happy Valley Hotel in Ezulwini.
The women-focused gathering is being hosted by comedy and content-creation duo Gogo Eswatini and S’lwane, through the S’lwane Care Foundation.
The event is centred on mental wellness, emotional healing, women’s empowerment and creating a space where women can engage without feeling the need to present a perfect version of themselves.
The organisers have encouraged women to come as they are with the gathering designed around conversations and activities that speak to the everyday experiences of women.
eGumeni was originally scheduled for an earlier date but has since been moved to October 3. The programme will run from 09:30 until 16:00, giving attendees a full day of discussions, interaction and networking.
One of the main features of the programme will be its focus on mental health and emotional wellbeing.
Rather than treating wellness as a single conversation, the organisers have brought together speakers from different areas to address some of the issues women encounter in their personal, professional and family lives.
Counselling psychologist Dr Nkululeko ‘Dr Better’ Mhlongo is among the featured speakers and is expected to address mental health, healing and emotional wellbeing.
The programme will also have a leadership and empowerment component, with Honourable Minister Savannah Maziya announced as the keynote speaker.
Maziya is Eswatini’s Minister of Information, Communications and Technology and has worked across business, public service and technology.
Her participation adds a leadership perspective to an event that is otherwise strongly rooted in personal wellbeing and women’s experiences.
The event will also feature television personality and digital content creator Bello Nkhosi, alongside communications professional and brand architect MC Lindokuhle, who will be involved in guiding the programme.
Accessibility has also been included in the event planning, with professional sign-language interpreters Nomvula Maseko and Bathobile Mhlabane scheduled to be on site.
The organisers say the gathering is intended to encourage women to establish supportive relationships with one another rather than experiencing personal challenges in isolation.
This approach follows previous wellness initiatives by Gogo Eswatini and S’lwane.
The move from a men’s wellness programme to a women-focused gathering places both events within the duo’s growing work beyond comedy and social media.
The programme is expected to touch on mental health awareness, business, home economics and holistic wellness, while allowing attendees to meet and interact with other women.
For the organisers, the central message is, women do not have to arrive with everything figured out.
They can come as they are, listen, speak, learn, meet other women and spend a day engaging with conversations that affect their lives.
And with a programme bringing together mental-health professionals, a government minister, media personalities and other facilitators, eGumeni is set to place women’s wellbeing at the centre of the day’s conversations.
