Zindzi Thwala clinches Emerging Brands in Africa award

Zindzi Thwala has added another accolade to her growing list of achievements after clinching an award at the 2026 Emerging Brands in Africa Awards.
The awards were held on February 28 at The Maslow Hotel in Sandton.
The outstanding brand and strategic communication expert confirmed her win through a series of celebratory posts on her Instagram stories shortly after the ceremony.
Dressed for the occasion and visibly elated, Thwala shared moments from the awards floor, signalling a significant milestone in her professional journey. She has not yet issued a formal statement regarding the win.
The Emerging Brands in Africa Awards recognise entrepreneurs and brands shaping the continent’s evolving business landscape.
The platform spotlights innovation, leadership, and measurable impact across sectors, including media, technology, communications, beauty, and enterprise development.

Thwala was nominated under the banner of her diverse professional portfolio as Founder and Owner of Authentic Beauty House, Country Manager of Liquid Logic Eswatini, and a recognised content creator within continental media spaces.
Her nomination placed her among African entrepreneurs building brands that extend beyond national borders.
She was one of three Swati nominated for this year’s awards.
Among them was flamboyant entertainer and creative Todvwa Gwebu, widely known as Tittie Macbubbles, whose bold creative persona has earned regional recognition.
The inclusion of multiple nominees from Eswatini underscored the country’s growing presence within continental entrepreneurship and creative industries.
Thwala’s professional trajectory spans corporate communications, media management and brand strategy.
A graduate of the University of Johannesburg, she began her career in the banking sector before pivoting toward media and communications.
She later obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Media Management with distinction from Rhodes University through its Sol Plaatje Institute, strengthening her credentials within the communications field.
Her early corporate experience includes serving as a Communications Officer at the Eswatini Communications Commission, where she was involved in strategic communication initiatives.
Over time, she built a reputation for brand positioning and structured messaging skills that would later underpin her entrepreneurial ventures.
In 2025, Thwala was recognised as part of the Forbes Women Africa Content Creator Club, aligning her with a network of female creators contributing to business and leadership narratives across the continent.
Her participation in the publication’s Leading Women Summit further positioned her within discussions centred on influence and innovation in African media.
Beyond communications, Thwala founded Authentic Beauty House, a beauty enterprise dedicated to inclusive service delivery and professional artistry.
The business merges beauty entrepreneurship with brand strategy, reflecting a hybrid model that integrates creativity and structured business development.
In 2022, she received the Standard Bank Luju Festival Hairvolution Stylist Award, reinforcing her standing within Eswatini’s creative economy.
Her portfolio also extends into voice-over artistry, with work featured across radio and television platforms in Eswatini.
The diversification of her professional footprint from corporate communication to creative enterprise has become a defining characteristic of her brand.
Saturday evening’s ceremony in Sandton marked another chapter in that trajectory. Images shared on her social media depicted a celebratory atmosphere inside the hotel’s ballroom setting.

Meanwhile, Thwala’s win comes amid heightened continental attention toward African entrepreneurship, particularly within digital and creator-driven economies.
Content creators and communication strategists are increasingly recognised not only as storytellers, but as brand architects shaping markets and consumer narratives.
Her nomination profile earlier this year highlighted more than six years of collaboration with multinational brands including Forbes Women Africa, Puma Africa, MTN and Oracle Group.
The February 28 outcome now adds a continental award title to that portfolio. Through a brief but visible digital confirmation, Thwala signalled her latest achievement one that further anchors her position within Africa’s emerging brand ecosystem.
