Bean there, run that with Bello Nkhosi

....Face of the first-ever Coffee Run.

Eswatini’s wellness and lifestyle scene is stepping into a new rhythm with the launch of the Pick n Pay Eswatini Coffee Run & Community Walk, a winter activation built around movement, music, coffee, and community connection.

More than a fitness event, it positions itself as a shared social experience, so think coffee run (literally), shopping,  photo opps and of course good music.

At the centre of it is media personality Bello Nkhosi, a familiar voice and face across Eswatini television and podcasting culture.

From hosting youth-driven content on Eswatini TV to co-hosting the TEA Podcast, her work has consistently sat at the intersection of entertainment, lifestyle, and conversation.

For this event, she steps into a different kind of roleone that blends community engagement with wellness culture, as the face of the first-ever Coffee Run.

The concept itself leans into something refreshingly simple: no pressure, no elite fitness barrier, just people moving together.

With 3km, 5km, and 10km routes, it opens the space for runners, walkers, and first-timers to exist in the same atmosphere without hierarchy. It’s about participation over performance, and that tone carries through every layer of the event.

In a world where wellness is often packaged as intense discipline, this activation brings it back to something more human, coffee in hand, cold air, conversation, and movement shared in real time.

Below, Bello Nkhosi shares her thoughts ahead of July 18.

Q: It’s your first time being the face of the Pick n Pay Eswatini Coffee Run & Community Walk. How does that feel?

A: It’s honestly such an exciting and humbling opportunity. I believe the best events are the ones that bring people together for a greater purpose, and this event does exactly that.

It’s not just about running or walking it’s about community, wellness, and creating memorable experiences.

I’m proud to be part of something that encourages people of all fitness levels to come together and prioritize their health while having fun a big shoutout to Naedene and Alexa who are the brains behind such an exciting event.

Q: The event offers 10km, 5km, and 3km routes. What advice would you give people doing the shorter, more casual walks?

A: My biggest advice is to remember that you’re not competing with anyone, you’re simply showing up for yourself.

Whether you’re doing the 3km, 5km, or 10km, every step counts. Bring a friend, enjoy the atmosphere, listen to good music, and celebrate the fact that you’re moving your body. The goal is progress, not perfection.

Q: The event is called 'Coffee Run'.  Are you a coffee person, and what’s your go-to post-event treat?

A: I definitely appreciate a good cup of coffee , although I’m more of a dirty chai type of girl paired with a hearty breakfast.

I definitely gravitate more towards hot beverages and picknPay gave us an event that celebrates hot beverages right in winter.

Q: Wellness is more than physical fitness. How do you protect your mental health?

A: Protecting my mental health means creating intentional moments of rest.

I make time to unplug from social media, spend time with family and close friends, and practice gratitude.

I’ve learned that saying 'no' when necessary and prioritizing my peace isn’t selfish,it’s essential.

Q: What does your everyday wellness routine look like outside of events like this?

A: I try to keep things simple and sustainable. I stay active through walking or light exercise, drink plenty of water, prioritize sleep, and make conscious choices about what I eat.

I also make sure to carve out time for myself, whether that’s reading, reflecting, or simply taking a break from the hustle.

Q: If you had to curate a playlist for July 18,what would be on it?

A: The playlist would definitely be a mix of local and international hits. I’d include some energetic Amapiano tracks, Afrobeat favorites from artists like Burna Boy and Tems, and most definitely any gqom tracks .

The key is creating a vibe that keeps everyone’s energy high from start to finish.

Q: You’ve built a strong media presence across TV and podcasting. What’s your secret to authenticity?

A: Authenticity has always been my foundation. I believe people connect with honesty, consistency, and genuine passion.

I’ve always tried to remain true to who I am while continuously improving my craft. Building trust takes time, and I’ve learned that showing up consistently and staying authentic matters more than chasing trends.

Q: How do you decide what to share with your audience and what to keep private?

A: I’ve learned that boundaries are incredibly important. I’m happy to share my work, passions, and moments that can inspire others, but I also protect parts of my personal life.

Not everything needs to be public, and maintaining that balance helps me stay grounded and preserve meaningful relationships.

Q: What’s one piece of advice that has stayed with you throughout your career?

A: One piece of advice that has stayed with me is: “Be prepared when your opportunity comes.”

Success often happens when preparation meets opportunity, so I’ve always tried to remain committed, professional, and ready to learn. That mindset has opened many doors for me.

Q: What’s next for you after July 18?

A: I’m always excited about growth and exploring new opportunities. Beyond July 18, I’m looking forward to expanding my work in media.

There is an Exciting new season of The Platform returning, Hosting the Luju Beehive stage, creating more meaningful content, and collaborating with brands and projects that align with my values.

The goal is to keep evolving, challenging myself creatively, and making a positive impact wherever I can.
